BOSCOE Capt. William Edward Born November 17, 1925 Lemberg, SK. Died May 4, 2009 North Vancouver. With “Oceans of Emotions” and lovingly remembered Bill was the beloved husband of Kathryn, father to Madeline (Victor), Di, Lawrence and Carol. Grandpa to Cary, Christine, Nathan, Kathryn, Heather, Sean and Nick. Survived by sister Helen. Bill was a prairie boy who spent his early life at sea; as a cadet officer in the merchant marine, an officer with the C.P.R. ferries, icebreakers, weatherships and the coast guard. Before his retirement he worked ashore as marine surveyor and a navigation examiner. Since retiring, Bill has spent his time volunteering with the Mission to Seaman, the Legion and Silver Harbour Senior Center; gardening, playing bingo, fishing and enjoying being a Grandpa. He taught us the value of generosity, the importance of duty and the love of and respect for the sea and the land. A celebration of Bill’s life and reception will be held Saturday, May 30th, 2009 2 - 4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 123 W. 15th Street, North Vancouver.
