Capt. Robert Elmer Beattie September 28, 1929 - October 14, 2015 Elmer passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Predeceased by his loving wife Claire, daughter, Karen & grandsons, Ken & Jim.
Elmer is survived by his sons Bob (Lorelei) & Don (Iris), daughters, Joanne (Brian), Janet (Al), Deanna (Rob), Debbie (Gary). 16 Grandchildren & 15 Great grandchildren. Partner of 5 years, Elaine. Brother, Len(Connie), sisters, Connie, Betty, Gail (Harold).
Elmer loved the sea. He spent 34 years as Tugboat Master with Gulf of Georgia and Seaspan and his retirement years sailing with Claire on his sailboat, Kittywake. Ashore, when he wasn’t at a gathering with his family, he was outdoors hunting, fishing or vacationing at his cabin at Bosk Lake or somewhere in the U.S. or Western Canada .
The family wish to thank the staff at Laurel Place Hospice for their loving care during Dad’s last days.
