McCOY Captain Robert Dennis, born March 17, 1930 in Carstairs, Alberta. Passed away peacefully October 9, 2003, in Victoria, BC, surrounded by his family. Survived by his wife Edith; brother Hugh (Carol); children Robert, Kathleen, and Russell; grandson Jessie; step-children Tim, Delaine (Bruce), Kara, and Hilia (Peter); step-grandchildren Karla, Michael, Peter, and Kaylee; nephew Ken; niece Teresa and her children Brandy and Serena. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues on the Vancouver waterfront. Bob went to sea at the age of 14 years, a career that spanned 59 years at sea, first working for Island Tug and Barge, then CPR Princess ships, Northland Tug, Rivtow, Sea Span and finally Harbour Ferries. During this time he also served in the Canadian Merchant Marine during WWII and the Korean War. There will be a Memorial Service held Thursday, October 16, at 2:00 pm, at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC. Dad, you will live in our hearts forever.
