SOROCHAN, Capt. Robert (Bob) Dmytro It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Sorochan on April 3, 2010 at the age of 69 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bob will be thoroughly missed by his loving wife Eleanor; daughter Nicole (Mike); son Ryan, sister Marie, sister Alice (Frank), brother Walter (Lucy), and grandchild Owen. Bob will always be remembered for his wonderful energy, great cooking, and endless stories (often heard many times over). He worked as a tugboat captain and was a member of the Canadian Merchant Service Guild for 40 years. He really enjoyed his annual fishing trips with his son Ryan and lifelong friend Bruce, creating works of art in his woodwork shop, and spending time with his grandson Owen. A special thanks to both Dr. Nantel who took special care of Bob since originally being diagnosed with leukemia in 1991 and to his sister Marie who donated her bone marrow and gifted Bob another 20 wonderful years of life and memories. He will be missed so much by us all. A celebration of life will be held for Bob on Sunday, April 11th, at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 14660-72nd Ave, Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia BMT Program of B.C. in Bob’s name would be greatly appreciated. FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
