Robert passed away peacefully and with dignity after a short illness at the North Shore Hospice in North Vancouver right across from where he was born. Being raised in West Vancouver along with his eight siblings, there were many hours spent exploring mountain trails and back down to the beautiful north shore beaches. One of Robert’s first jobs was with Woodward’s food floor at Park Royal while still in high school. He then went on to enjoy a healthy career on the tug boats up and down the B.C. Coast. After acquiring his own boats, he became one of the most sought after in the High Line log salvaging business. Robert next ventured on to dry land as he entered into the real estate business with Marine Realty where he specialized in water front properties and coastal islands, then on to his work “Downtown” where he held an office in The Sinclair Building. His fascination and interest in geology alongside many years of experience in the mining industry brought Robert to his last venture. Even in his final days he was always interested and involved in having many conversations with family and friends and making plans for the future. Robert was a hardworking and honest man, a caring father and loyal friend. He leaves behind two daughters, Kathie (Kevin) and Norma (Mike), his three grandchildren, Tara, Kyle and Kelsey; and great-grandson, Oliver. In lieu of flowers, if you wish a donation may be made in Robert’s name to the Dr. Paul Sugar Palliative Support Foundation or to the North Shore Hospice Society. No service by request.
