De BAIE, Charles William (Bill) With profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Bill on February 4, 2010. Bill is predeceased by his loving wife Betty. He is survived by four daughters: Debra (Gordon), Linda (Gordon), Sherry and Donna, eight grandchildren: Tricia, Richard, Robert, Brandon, Erin, Kristy, Ryan and Nicole, six great-grandchildren: Crissy, Mathew, Kiana, Taijah, Jacob and Levi, one great-great-grandson: Carlos, his father-in-law Irvine Wilson and his later-in-life partner Ann West. As executive members of the Canadian Merchant Navy Veterans Association, Bill and his colleagues were instrumental in gaining veteran benefits for members of the Merchant Navy. A memorial service to honour Bill will be held Saturday, February 13 at 10:00 am at Fraser Heights Chapel, 14835 Fraser Hwy, Surrey. In lieu of flowers the family would greatly appreciate donations be made in his memory to the BC Lung Association. Fraser Heights Chapel - 604-589-2559
