It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, Finn Hoyrup. After a brave and arduous battle, Finn passed away peacefully holding the hands of both his children. Providing love and support were his sister Grace and former wife and friend Judy. Finn leaves behind his daughter Stacy and son Dane, along with their spouses Mark and Kelly. Sister Grace and her husband Jerry and Brother Pete. His cherished grandsons Christian (Stacy) and Nicholas (Dane) will forever be better young men for having been blessed with the most adoring, loving, generous Papa. Finn was a man of high principles and believed in Family and the sacred bond that meant. He was a man of honour, integrity and fairness. These qualities he never wavered from, in his parenting, friendships and his amazing career as a BC Coastal Pilot. A position he was so very proud of and loved every minute of it. Even when the call was… Midnight to Sea. Finn loved his children, grandchildren, his family and his life. He excelled at skiing, sailing, golf and windsurfing. Always throwing himself wholeheartedly into whatever he pursued. Dad will always be in our hearts and minds, guiding us with his words of encouragement and love, keeping us safe, with our keel steady and our sails full. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 18th, 1:00 p.m. at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 – 28th Avenue, Surrey BC. All Family and Friends welcome.
