Edward Roland Taylor May 4, 1918 - February 6, 2016 It is with great sadness that the family of Edward Roland Taylor announce his passing at the age of 97. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary and second wife Margaret. He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn and step daughter Coral (Glen), stepson Cliff (Linda). Grandchildren, Kelly (Mark), Terry (Cheral Ann) and great grandchildren, Christian, Ava, Taylor and Dylan.
Ed was born on a ranch near the foot of the Cypress Hills in Southern Saskatchewan . His family moved to Vancouver in 1923. In 1941, he married his first wife, Mary and soon after, their daughter, Marilyn was born in Victoria. Ed then was assigned to set up the Navel motor transport in Vancouver. Shortly after, Mary and Marilyn, joined him to reside in Vancouver. Ed’s career spanned decades on the water from deckhand, naval officer, tugboat captain and sales and marketing for both Gulf of Georgia Towing and Seaspan. Mary passed away in 1999. Ed later married Margaret in 2000. Ed and Margaret spent their golden years singing with the confederation choir and spent some of their years traveling together. Margaret passed away in 2014. Ed spent his life cherishing the people closest to him. He will be forever remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
